This page was set up to assist scouts and parents in preparing scouts for long term and short term campouts.

Each campout, scouts have forgotten items that they needed for the campout. Hopefully this page will help in stopping the scouts from forgetting. On the last campout, the temperature was in the thirties and several scouts forgot to bring jackets and long sleeved shirts.

WHAT TO TAKE ON A WEEKEND CAMPOUT

Scouts attending a weekend campout should bring the following items:

DUTCH OVEN COOKING RECIPES

CHICKEN RUTHERFORD
8 chicken breasts
12 oz package of bacon
1 can, 12 oz cream of chicken soup
1 can, 12 oz cream of mushroom soup
1 pint of sour creme

Mix cream of chicken, cream of mushroom and sour cream together in small mixing bowl, set aside.
Wrap bacon slices around chicken breasts and place in bottom of dutch oven.
Pour mixture of soup and sour cream over chicken breast and smooth over all chicken.
Place lid on oven and cook for two hours at 350 degrees, with more charcoal on the lid than bottom.
After top of chicken and sauce begins to brown, remove from heat and let stand for five minutes. Remaining sauce can be used to pour over baked potatoes, serve with salad and drink.
